The Isle of Man TT, first held in 1907, is one of the world’s most famous motorcycle races. With a course stretching over 37 miles of public roads, recording precise lap and total race times from the very beginning was a demanding task that depended on manually operated stopwatches. The Isle of Man TT was part of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing world championship until 1976.
As the TT grew in prestige over the decades, timing methods evolved from mechanical stopwatches to modern electronic systems, including sensors and transponders. Beyond documenting times, the Official Timekeeper role represents the balance between the TT’s century-old traditions and modern technology and marketing of one of the world’s most challenging motorsport events.
Graham was announced as the Official Timekeeper of the Isle of Man TT in November of 2008. The historic British brand served the role through the 2014 event, and released several Isle of Man TT editions through its Chronofighter and Silverstone lines.
Wryst signed a two year agreement to be the Official Timing Partner of the Isle of Man TT in April of 2015. The partnership continued through 2018, the same year that the Isle of Man TT special edition chronograph was launched.
Bremont took over as the Official Watch & Timing Partner to the Isle of Man TT in 2019. The British brand also announced Peter Hickman as a brand ambassador. Two Bremont Isle of Man TT Limited Edition chronographs were released during the partnership.
TW Steel was announced as the Official Watch Partner of the Isle of Man TT. Two TT edition models were announced shortly after.
