Casio

Casio was founded in April of 1946 by Tadao Kashio.  Originally named Kashio Seisakujo, the Japanese company’s first successful product was a cigarette-holding finger ring called the yubiwa pipe. Profits were eventually used to develop calculators, and the Casio Computer Co., Ltd. was formed in 1957. The first digital watch, the CASIOTRON, was released in 1974.

Mugen Motorsports

Casio announced the Edifice ECB-40MU on July 13, 2023. The model was a collaboration between the Edifice line and Mugen Motorsports (M-TEC Company, Ltd.), which were celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Based on the Sospensione ECB-40 platform, the Mugen edition features its logo and corporate colors on the dial, a carbon fiber and resin case, a Mugen Power-branded strap, and the tuning company’s logo on the case back.

Both Casio and Mugen have independently enjoyed a long history across different motorsports, including sportscar racing, Super Formula, and Formula 1. While the ECB-40MU isn’t specifically an Isle of Man TT model, Mugen is well known to have competed in the TT Zero class from 2012 to 2019 with a total of six TT wins.
