Scalfaro was founded in 2001 by Alexander Kuhnle and Dominik Kuhnle, and is currently based in Neuhausen, Germany. The brand name comes from the word “lighthouse” in Italian, with inspiration primarily drawn from yachting and motorsports.
John Surtees
Scalfaro has worked with Grand Prix motorcycle racing World Champion, Formula 1 World Champion, and six-time TT winner John Surtees to announce the Scalfaro John Surtees Edition chronograph in 2014.
Genuine parts from the British racer’s title-winning 1960 MV Agusta 500 4C and 1964 Ferrari 158 have been integrated into the case. The sapphire crystal features a reproduction of Surtees’ signature, while the exhibition case back shows his world titles by year. A total of 300 pieces were produced.
